Oprah's Book Club Makes More Books into Hits
Recently, Oprah Winfrey profiled diet books by doctors Michael F. Roizen and Mehmet C. Oz. As a result, the duo's diet books are flying off the shelves.
According to http://seattlepi.nwsource.com, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer web site, "Since an appearance last Thursday on Winfrey's television talk show, books by Roizen and Oz have occupied the top three spots on the best seller list of Amazon.com, with customers buying both the book alone and the book and DVD of their new work, 'YOU: On a Diet,' and the hardcover edition of a previous text, 'YOU: The Owner's Manual,' a million seller in 2005 thanks in part to Winfrey."
The pair's books are easy to comprehend, and focus on how to lead a healthy life by carefully watching what you eat. The http://seattlepi.nwsource.com article goes on to say, "The authors regard the human body as a house - the heart is the water main, the digestive system part of the plumbing and the bones the foundation."
Oprah's book club has been on hiatus up until now; the last book club selection was Elie Wiesel's "Night." Oprah's book club had been suspended before, for a year in 2002-2003.
