Charity Concert in Memory of Diana to be Held
27-Nov-2006
Written by: Dalip S. Sethi
Princes William and Harry to host star-studded rock concert in London.
In memory of the late Princess Diana, and marking the 10th anniversary of her passing, a concert will take place on July 1, 2007, in London, featuring Elton John, Sting, Phil Collins, George Michael, Girls Aloud and Robbie Williams.
Prince William and Prince Harry are hosting the event, set to take place in Wembley Stadium, on what would have been Diana’s 46th birthday, and what is sure to be a night to remember. The concert will be broadcast on television around the globe, and over 90,000 are expected in attendance.
Most importantly, this will be a charity concert, and the princes will be donating the proceeds to groups like Centrepoint and Tusk Trust. Diana will always be remembered for her dedication to charity work, and the memorial concert is a fitting way for her sons to carry on a bit of her legacy. With an all-star lineup and great cause, the event should be one for the ages.
