Diana Tribute Concert Tix Sell Out Quick
13-Dec-2006
Written by: Dalip S. Sethi
Twenty minutes and gone...and don’t bother looking on EBAY.
The tribute concert for Princess Diana, set to take place in London on July 1st, sold out of the initial 22,500 seats within 20 minutes of going on sale. The tickets were priced at 45 British pounds apiece, and available by phone or through the official website www.concertfordiana.com.
Although the website has posted information indicating more batches of tickets will be released after the New Year, EBAY entrepreneurs had them up for auction at near 300 pounds. This could hardly have been good news to Princes William and Harry, who are donating the proceeds of the event to charities. In swift reaction time, administrators of the auction site have promptly taken down any offer for Diana tickets “out of respect.”
Sixty thousand fans are expected to attend the concert which will be held in Wembley Stadium and feature acts like Elton John, Duran Duran, Joss Stone, and Pharrell Williams.
