Lifetime Achievement Grammys Announced
Three legendary acts, amongst others, to be honored.
The Recording Academy announced on Tuesday that The Doors, the Grateful Dead, and Joan Baez will receive lifetime achievement Grammy awards at the next ceremony. According to the AP, the awards are decided by a vote of the group's national board of trustees.
Don't look too forward to watching the moment happen though, because these Grammys will be handed out before the main ceremony on February 11th. The 49th Annual Grammy Awards will air live on CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
Other honorees will be Stax Records co-founder Estelle Axton, Grammy-winning composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim and recording engineer Cosimo Matassa.
