P Diddy Apologizes for Use of Fur on Clothing Line
27-Dec-2006
Written by: Jeannine Coppola

Rapper says he did not know Sean John clothing contained real animal skin.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Sean "Diddy" Combs has apologized for the use of real fur on his Sean John Clothing. Diddy claims he was unaware that the jackets used genuine animal skin.

The rap star's fur issue came up recently when the Humane Society of the United States criticized Diddy after it was discovered that the hood lining of "faux fur" Sean John jackets was actually made out of raccoon dog fur. Diddy has now apologized to the Humane Society and ordered the clothing to be removed from Macy's department stores. He stated, "I was unaware of the nature of this material, but as soon as we were alerted, the garments were pulled off the Macy's floor and website. I have instructed our licensee to cease the production of any garment using this material immediately."
