Comedies and sequels make up most of this DVD Dribble.
It’s time again for another DVD Dribble. Some famous names make up the following DVDs.
This edition of the DVD Dribble begins with some action. Steve Seagal uncovers a covert military operation which in turn puts his life in jeopardy in Attack Force. The DVD contains English audio tracks and English, Chinese, and Korean subtitles.
The Butterfly Effect is back with a sequel, but this time there’s no Ashton Kutcher. Eric Lively and Erica Durance star in The Butterfly Effect 2. In the film, the past is changed by recalling forgotten memories. The DVD includes commentaries by the director and co-producer and “Altering Reality: On the Set of The Butterfly Effect 2” featurette. The film has English audio tracks as well as English and Spanish subtitles.
A librarian comes out from behind the books and into an adventure in The Librarian - Return to King Solomon’s Mines. Noah Wylie, Gabrielle Anwar, Bob Newhart, Jane Curtain, and Olympia Dukakis star in the sequel to the 2004 film, The Librarian - Quest for a Spear. This time, the librarian is in search of King Solomon’s mines. The DVD includes “In the Den with the Librarian’s Special Effects Artist” featurette, English audio tracks and Spanish subtitles.
Strangers with Candy comedy series became a film in 2005 and now it’s on DVD. Amy Sedaris and Stephen Colbert are amongst the stars in the comedy about a former convict who goes back to school. The DVD has filmmaker commentary, deleted scenes, the trailer, and “Atomic Car” music video. The audio tracks are in English, but there are also Spanish subtitles.
Broken Lizard is back with another absurd comedy. The guys behind Super Troopers and Club Dread released their latest film, Beerfest, on DVD. Beerfest follows a group of Americans as they try and take on the Germans in a beer drinking competition. The DVD comes in both widescreen and full screen editions as well as an unrated version. The R-rated DVD features are audio commentary, deleted scenes, featurette, interviews, theatrical trailer, and “Beer 101 History Lesson.” Added features in the unrated edition include “Party Foul” and “Frog Fluffer” featurettes. The DVD has English audio tracks and English, Spanish, and French subtitles.
Paris Hilton tries her hand at acting once again in National Lampoon’s Pledge This. In the film, freshman girls in college try and join the Gamma, Gamma sorority headed by Paris’ character, Victoria. The DVD contains a making-of featurette and English audio tracks and subtitles.
George Carlin’s latest HBO comedy special has hit DVD. George Carlin: Life is Worth Losing features the stand up routine he performed at New York’s Beacon Theater. The 73 minute DVD does not include any special features.
This edition of the DVD Dribble included a couple of comedies as well as some sequels. So if you’re up for a laugh or enjoyed the original versions, try one of the above films.
