Rock Hall Sets 2007 Class

Several inductees overlooked in the past.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its 2007 class of inductees, and among them will be R.E.M., Van Halen, and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five.

R.E.M. is known for the timeless worldwide hit "Losing My Religion," while Van Halen is often remembered for the public feud between their successive frontmen David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar (besides the music, of course). Before getting all hot and bothered, know this - the Rock Hall will induct the band with both Roth and Hagar. Grandmaster Flash was a pioneer in the rap game, and along with the Furious Five, launched hip-hop from the Brooklyn streets into the mainstream pop scene. Flash and the gang will be the first rap group sent to the Hall.

Other inductees include rocker, Patti Smith, and original girl group, The Ronettes. The 22nd annual induction dinner will be held on March 12th.
