Cameron's Eyes on 3D Project

Super director signs on for big-budget computer animated film.

Titanic director, James Cameron, has announced his next project, and it is a titanic one. Cameron will return to the big-screen with Avatar, a science fiction flick filmed entirely in 3D with a budget just under $200 million.

The computer animation that the director intends to use is groundbreaking technology, and, Cameron says, "will blow you to the back wall of the theater." Unlike Titanic, this film will be shot entirely on a stage within 31 days. This should help keep the budget controllable and delays at a minimum.

Australian actor, Sam Worthington, leads the pack of a relatively unknown cast for Avatar, which should have a 2009 release date. Let's just hope we can build enough 3D theaters by then.
