Beckham Joining American Soccer League

David Beckham, perhaps the most popular soccer star in the world, is coming to America - Los Angeles to be specific. "Becks" has confirmed that he will leave his club team in Spain, Real Madrid, in order to play for the L.A. Galaxy come August. It is being reported that between salary and endorsements, he will make about $250 million over the next five years.

Beckham is married to former "Posh Spice," Victoria Beckham, and has three sons. Victoria set off rumors of the power couple's move when she was seen house-hunting in southern California in the past couple months. Since her monstrously popular success with the Spice Girls, Victoria has since become involved in fashion - no singing plans in her future either.

Beckham's brand power is expansive over Europe, Asia, and Africa. The new move could seriously transform the face of soccer in the U.S., and make Major League Soccer a formidable sports attraction. The Galaxy have reported selling over 1,000 season ticket packages within hours of Beckham's announcement.
