England's Laurence Olivier Awards Nominations Announced

Spamalot runs away with the show, earning the most nominations at England's Laurence Olivier Awards.

Monty Python's musical hit, Spamalot, based on the movie, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, was nominated for seven Laurence Olivier Awards. Ironically, when the show's writer, Eric Idle, proposed it to the other members of Monty Python, they were reluctant.

The show is nominated for best new musical, and star Tim Curry is nominated for best actor for his role as King Arthur. Also, Hannah Waddingham is nominated in the best actress category for her role as the Lady of the Lake.

Also nominated in the best actress category was Kathleen Turner for Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Eve Best for A Moon For The Misbegotten.

Sunday In The Park With George received six nominations, including best director. Also, the play Rock 'N' Roll received four nominations, including Rufus Sewell for best actor. Evita also managed to get four nominations, including Elena Roger for best actress.
