It’s all about the kids on this edition of the DVD Dribble.
It’s time for some DVDs that will entertain the kids. Some of them are for pure entertainment while others can be used as a learning tool as well.
The Dribble starts off with a DVD aimed at children ages two to six-years-old. My Bedbugs 1 brings the award-winning children’s television series to DVD. It uses songs as well as adventures to enhance children’s developmental skills. There are no special features on this DVD.
Travel with Kids Hawaii: The Big Island teaches children about the culture and people of Hawaii. The DVD includes a trip planner, parental tips, “Hawaii at Home,” recipes, language lessons, and crafts.
Up next is the popular cartoon Scooby-Doo. A Pup Named Scooby-Doo Vol. 5 contains four 22-minute episodes of the 80s television cartoon which shows the adventures the characters had when they were kids. There are no special features on this DVD.
Jim Cosgrove’s live concert is shown in Mr. Stinky Feet’s Road Trip. The DVD accompanies Cosgrove’s 2005 album. Also included on the DVD is the “Slug Bug” music video.
Open Season closes out this edition of the DVD Dribble. The animated tale comes in widescreen, full screen, Blu-ray, and UMD mini editions. In Open Season, a domesticated bear ends up in the wild three days before hunting begins. Martin Lawrence, Ashton Kutcher, Jon Favreau, Gary Sinise, and Jane Krakowski are some of the famous voices heard in the film. The DVD has a load of special features which include “Inside the Animal Studio,” “Wheel of Fortune” Forest Edition game, “The Voices Behind the Stars," “Voice-A-Rama,” music video, deleted scenes, filmmakers commentary, ring tales, art gallery, beat boards, a sneak peek at Surf’s Up, and a DVD-Rom link.
All of the above DVDs are targeted for children, but I’m sure others can be entertained as well. Maybe the older folks can learn something from them too.
