Brandy Involved In Car Crash That Left One Dead

On December 30, 2006, R&B star Brandy, though not injured, was involved in a four car accident that left one driver dead.

Brandy's car hit the back another car at about 65 miles per hour. The other car, driven by 38-year old Awatef Aboudihaj, hit another vehicle, and then slid sideways before hitting the center divider. Aboudihaj's car was then hit by an oncoming car. She died in the hospital later of blunt force injuries.

There was an investigation into whether any one was at fault for the accident and the subsequent death. The death of Aboudihaj was ruled and accident.

"She wishes to publicly express her condolences to the family of the deceased," said the "Moesha" star's publicist Courtney Barnes in a statement. Barnes also added that Brandy was not under the influence of any drugs or alcohol.
