DVD Dribble

If you’re looking for a little drama or a thrill, then this Dribble might be for you.
This edition of the DVD Dribble is action packed and may even give you a little scare. The following are not your run of the mill DVDs.
If you believe or are interested in extraterrestrials or UFOs, then you might want to check out the first DVD on the list. Night Skies is a true story based on the transcripts from people who witnessed the UFO sighting on March 13, 1997 called the “Phoenix Lights.” The DVD includes English subtitles and audio tracks.
Up next is the sequel to the remake of the Japanese horror film, The Grudge. The Grudge 2 is available in an Unrated Director’s Cut, theatrical release, Blu-ray, and UMD Mini editions. The DVD includes “East Meets West,” “Grudge 2: Storyline Development,” and “Ready When You Are, Mr. Shimizu” featurettes, deleted scenes, cast and crew reel change montage, and English and French audio tracks and subtitles. The Unrated Director’s Cut edition also has “Holding a Grudge: Kayako & Toshio” featurette and “Tales from the Grudge with Introduction from Sam Raimi.”
Flashdance star Jennifer Beals took off her dancing shoes for this next film. Troubled Waters is a thriller about the kidnapping of a millionaire couple’s daughter. There are no special features on this DVD.
Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles follows the travels of a Japanese fisherman whose estranged son is dying. He takes it upon himself to finish a documentary his son started. The DVD includes “The Making of Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles,” Mandarin, French, and Portuguese audio tracks and English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese subtitles.

Mariel Hemingway stars in In Her Line of Fire. The film is about a female secret service agent who helps free the Vice President after his plane goes down and is captured by South American rebels. The DVD does not include any special features.
Shottas is a drama about people growing up in the streets of Kingston, Jamaica. It stars Ky-Mani Marley, who is the son of legendary reggae artist Bob Marley, and musician Wyclef Jean. The DVD contains audio commentary by the director and cast, “Shottas for Life” behind-the-scenes featurette, “My Brother, My Friend: A Shottas Dedication,” “In Memoriam,” video introduction by Ky-Mani Marley and Cess Silvera, Shottas dictionary, and English and French audio tracks and subtitles.
If soccer or futbol is your thing then you’ll consider The FIFA 2006 World Cup Film - The Grand Finale as a “GOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLL!” The DVD brings the highlights of the 2006 World Cup to your home. There are no special features on the DVD.
Now we move on to American football with Facing the Giants. It is an underdog story about a losing Christian High School football coach who puts his faith in God to help the team win. The DVD includes “Fumbles, Funnies, and Other Fun Stuff,” “Behind the Scenes of Facing the Giants featurette, interview with Mark Richt: University of Georgia Bulldogs Football coach, “With You” musical tribute to volunteers, trailer, deleted scenes, and filmmaker commentary. The DVD also contains English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Thai audio tracks and English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Portuguese, and Thai subtitles.
Elisha Cuthbert, Camilla Belle, and Edie Falco star in The Quiet. The film is about a young, deaf and mute woman who moves to her godparents’ house and learns about the drama of the family. “Fetal Pig, Fetal Pig, Let Me In: Dissecting the Dissection Scene,” Locations: Shooting in Austin, Sans Celluloid: The Quiet and the Digital Cinema, script development, and the cast are all the special features on this DVD. The audio tracks are in English, French, and Spanish. English, Spanish, French, Chinese, and Korean subtitles are also available.
The Puffy Chair closes out this edition of the DVD Dribble. In the film, a young man finds a reclining chair online, similar to the one he had when he was growing up. He decides to purchase it and travel across the country to give it to his father as a birthday gift. The DVD contains commentary and an interview with the Duplass Brothers, outtakes, deleted scenes, short films, and Duplass Brothers skits.
This edition of the DVD Dribble contained a variety of different DVDs. Whether you’re into thrills, dramas, or sports, one of the above DVDs will probably entertain you.
