The Final Harry Potter is Announced

British literary sensation, J.K. Rowling has announced that the final installment to the hugely successful Harry Potter series will be published on July 21. The final book, which has Potter fans eagerly awaiting its release, will be called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Fans have also been intrigued by the new Potter book since Rowling announced that she planned to kill off one of the main characters. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, the sixth book in the series, sold $6.9 million copies in the first 24 hours. If this is any indication, which it surely is, then the sales of the seventh book will be tremendous.

The hole that Harry Potter will leave in the publishing industry will be a huge one. The sixth book made about $175 million, which accounted for 13 percent of book sales at Scholastic Publishing, Rowling's American publisher.
