Kevin Federline Plays Fry Cook, Restaurants Not Happy
Kevin Federline, or more recently, FedEx, due to his divorce from Britney Spears, did a Super Bowl commercial for Nationwide Insurance. It starts with him performing in your typical cheesy rap video filled with glitz. But it gets cut short by a fast-food restaurant manager yelling, "Kevin. Fries!" Turns out, his rap fantasy is just a dream and he is really a fry cook.
Representatives at the National Restaurant Association are not impressed. They say the ad is "a direct insult to the 12.8 million Americans who work in the restaurant industry.
Federline apologized but rebutted and Nationwide Insurance has no plans to pull the ad.
"The commercial is completely intended for me, making fun of myself and my own situation," he said on Associated Press Television. "It has nothing to do with anybody in the fast-food industry at all. So, you know, if we've offended anybody, I'm really sorry about that."
