Harry Potter Presales Astounding, Breaking Records

Seventh book in series promises to be biggest selling.

According to latest headlines in the UK, the seventh and latest Harry Potter novel has registered over 100,000 pre-orders through Amazon alone, demolishing all previous pre-sales records. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is easily the hottest book on the planet, even though its release date remains five months away - July 21st (tentatively).

If the pace keeps up, the book could tally around 400,000 pre-orders. This latest installment of the Harry Potter saga is especially anticipated by fans who have endured rumors of two main character deaths - one being Harry himself. Author J.K. Rowling, recently ranked as the 2nd richest female in showbiz by Forbes, has steadfastly refused to deny that the teenage wizard could be killed off.

In the U.S.A., Deathly Hallows easily destroyed the day one pre-order record set by the last Potter book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. There could be 1.5 million American pre-orders before it's all said and done.
