No Spoof - Stiller and Cruise Project in the Works
Comedic actor Ben Stiller has told press that he and couch-jumper Tom Cruise will star in a film together, called The Hardy Men. The movie is an update to the popular book series, The Hardy Boys, about two crime-solving teenagers. Apparently the boys are now all grown up, but still haven't given up their old antics for real jobs.
Shawn Levy, who directed the hugely successful Stiller flick Night at the Museum ($225+ million), is on board with the project. It is rumored that talks started about a collaboration when Cruise met with Stiller to discuss the latter's current project, Tropic Thunder (a spoof on the Mission Impossible trilogy). While it doesn't look as if Cruise will take part in that one, The Hardy Men is a lock for an October start date.
