Cruise and Stiller Rumored to Work Together
Tom Cruise sees comedy as a way to revive his career after the commercial failure of "Mission Impossible 3." The antidote? It is rumored that he will star alongside Ben Stiller in a new version of "The Hardy Boys," according to TMZ.com.
The film betrays detective teens Joe and Frank Hardy, a product of the book by Franklin W. Dixon, all grown up and still up to their childhood antics. It will be directed by Shawn Levy, who also was the head in Stiller's recent hit "A Night At the Museum." as well as "The Pink Panther" and "Cheaper by the Dozen."
Stiller approached Cruise in the past about doing a movie called "Tropic Thunder" that would poke fun at the "Mission Impossible" trilogy. Cruise turned down the role but Stiller will still star in and direct the film.
The filming of "The Hardy Boys" looks like it will begin in October but there is no official confirmation about Cruise coming on board.
