Kate Beckinsale to Star in "Whiteout"

British actress Kate Beckinsale will star in the action thriller Whiteout, in Canada.

The movie is based on Greg Rucka's comic book. Beckinsale will play a U.S. marshal investigating Antarctica's first murder. Her character must figure out who the perpetrator is before winter hits or she will be stuck in 24-hours of darkness with the killer, in the goosebump inducing thriller that is sure to keep the audience sweatily gripping their armrests.

Gone in 60 Seconds director, Dominic Sena, will take the helm of the movie that Warner Bros. will put out for Dark Castle Entertainment. Shooting is set to begin March 12 in Montreal. No word of a release date has been set.

Beckinsale's last major movie was 2006's Click with Adam Sandler and the horror sequel Underworld: Evolution.
