Fall Out Boy's New Album Debuts at Number 1
Fall Out Boy, for the first time in their career, debuted at number one on the Billboard Charts for their album, Infinity on High. It sold 260,000 copies in one week.
Their latest single, "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race," is currently number three on the Hot 100. And fans not only picked up Fall Out Boy's latest album, they bought 5,300 copies of their 2005 surprise break out hit, "From Under The Cork Tree," returning it to number 168.
MTV.com argues that the new album's success was thrust up through the charts due to Tuesday's three-gigs-in-one-day stunt where the band traveled from New York to Chicago to Los Angeles in less than 24 hours to play a show in each city.
Fall Out Boy bumped Norah Jones' Not Too Late out of her number one spot, followed by American Idol finalist, Chris Daughtry's album at number three.
