Back to Rehab 2: No Van Halen Reunion
The possibility of a Van Halen reunion tour has been all vanquished with Eddie Van Halen's announcement to enter rehab. This comes a few weeks after the band had held rehearsals which, according to MTV, "felt like magic" for Eddie.
Eddie writes in a statement released on Thursday, "I have always and will always feel a responsibility to give you my best. At the moment I do not feel that I can give you my best. Some of the issues surrounding the 2007 Van Halen tour are within my ability to change and some are not. As far as my rehab is concerned, it is within my ability to change and change for the better."
Eddie isn't the only one in the band with "rock star" issues. Two other members of the band are planning on skipping the band's induction into the Hall of Fame on Monday. The LA Times reports that David Lee Roth objects to the event planners deciding to let the band Velvet Revolver perform Van Halen songs in the introduction, rather than have a partial Van Halen line up. Alex Van Halen, the drummer, will be absent as a show of solidarity for his brother Eddie.
