Heather Mills Accepts Divorce Agreement
12-Mar-2007
Written by: Elizabeth Pace

Heather Mills, the estranged wife of Sir Paul McCartney, had reportedly reached a divorce settlement.

Heather Mills is reportedly willing to accept a £29 million cash and property divorce settlement from estranged husband Sir Paul McCartney. Mills backed down on her hopes to get £10,000 a day "just to get by". She also gave up her bid for sole custody of their 3-year-old daughter Beatrice. The settlement will include £25 million in cash and Paul's £4 million St John's Wood mansion in London, as reported in Britain’s News of the World newspaper. McCartney, 64, allegedly agreed to contribute £2 million towards Heather's security costs during the divorce proceedings.

Mills, 39, is apparently not willing to sign a gagging clause because she plans to speak out about her four-year marriage to McCartney. According to leaked court documents from last year, Heather had claimed Paul was physically violent to her during their marriage. Her allegations included incidents when McCartney had pushed her into a bath while she was pregnant and on another occasion stabbed her in the arm with a broken wine glass. Up next for the former Mrs. McCartney is a stint on Dancing with the Stars. She is expected to bring her daughter Beatrice to the US this week during taping for the show.
