Hudson is Highlight of Soul Train Awards

Show will air week of March 17-25
The 21st annual Soul Train Music Awards were handed out on Saturday night and will air sometime between March 17th and 25th. Beyonce was at the head of the pack with three nominations, though she only came away with one win. The show was hosted by singers LeToya Luckett and Omarion. The Soul Train Awards featured a special tribute to late singer James Brown as well as performances buy Jennifer Hudson, Robin Thicke, and rapper Rick Ross.
A highlight of the show featured former “American Idol” hopeful and Best Supporting Actress Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson. The ex-Idol received the 2007 Sammy Davis Jr. Award for entertainer of the year. Beyonce earned the award for Best (Female) R&B/Soul Single for her song, “Irreplaceable.” Mary J. Blige received the Best (Female) R&B/Soul Album for “The Breakthrough.” Other winners include: Ne-Yo (Best New Artist), Gnarls Barkley (Best R&B/Soul Single (Group), and newbies Webstar and Young B’s “Chicken Noodle Soup” claimed Best R&B/Soul or Rap Dance Cut.
