“Sweeney Todd“ Put on Hold
13-Mar-2007
Written by: Jess Boettger

Johnny Depp refuses to return to work until his little girl is given a clean bill of health.

Johnny Depp has placed his work on hold while his daughter recovers from a recent health scare. The 7 year old was hospitalized recently for blood poisoning, according to the latest reports. After stepping on a rusty nail, Lily-Rose was kept in an undisclosed London hospital for nine days, and only recently was allowed to leave. Her parents kept a bedside vigil for their little girl, and now Depp plans to continue to do so until his daughter is given the all-clear.

His devotion as a father is bad news for the filming of Sweeney Todd, which has been placed on hold indefinitely. Currently, a film source reports that the plan is to re-employ everyone when Lily-Rose is well and Depp can return to the project. That is, unless the actor returns to the Pinewood Studios set of the film this weekend.

Depp and his family recently relocated to an English farmhouse in Bath, having previously resided in France. The actor and his partner, Vanessa Paradis, have two children together: Lily-Rose and 5-year-old John Jack.
