Mills Says Dancing Is Not A Publicity Stunt
13-Mar-2007
Written by: Abby Riese
Heather Mills stands by her decision to appear on Dancing With the Stars.
Heather Mills, who is divorcing former Beatle Paul McCartney, says her appearance on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars is for charitable causes, not an attempt to gain public sympathy.
According to the Associated Press, the activist and former model denies allegations that she is a “publicity-seeker,” saying that she never goes out and does anything to elicit publicity.
Mills’ leg was amputated below the knee after a 1993 motorcycle accident, and she will be the first contestant with an artificial limb to compete on the show.
"As much as everyone would love it to go flying, I'm sure it's not going to come off," Mills says. But, as she notes, "I've got a secondary spare leg just in case I overdo it on the foot and it breaks or something.
