Philbin's Surgery a Success

Regis Philbin successfully underwent triple-bypass heart surgery on Wednesday morning. The 75-year-old talk show host made the announcement about his impending surgery on his show "Live With Regis and Kelly" on Monday. He said, "I gotta tell you something. "I had been feeling chest pains, you know, and shortness of breath and all those little symptoms that you hear about." He added, "There's some plaque in some arteries, and I've got to get it cleaned out."

This morning, Kelly Ripa announced that her co-host is recovering well. She said Philbin was "up joking around" and "harassing people." She also said that one of his doctors said he has "the heart of a 19-year-old."

Philbin is not expected to return to the show for at least another five weeks.
