Britney Officially Leaves Rehab

Britney Spears left Promises Malibu, Tuesday, after “successfully completing the program.”

Spears entered Promises Malibu Alcohol and Drug Rehab Treatment Facility February 22, after erratic behavior following the separation from her husband Kevin Federline, which included late night partying, numerous tattoos, and shaving her hair off. It was not her first attempt at rehab – she had tried on two separate occasions only days earlier, but left both after 24 hours.

Spears had been rumored to be having a difficult time at Promises, at least until an amicable meeting with Federline was reported as helping her to make an “amazing turnaround.” Spears was believed to be battling drug and alcohol addiction, postpartum depression, and bulimia.

In the course of the meeting with Federline, it has been reported that the two have also come to agreement over custody of their two children, as well as a financial settlement. The two will share custody of Sean Preston, 18 months, and Jayden James, 6 months, for at least six months, when Spears will receive full custody, allowing Federline visitation rights. As for the financial settlement, Federline is expected to receive a total of about $19 million - a lump sum of $2 million, half of her earnings during the two years they were married, and half of the sell of their Malibu, California home.

Spears' relatively short stay at Promises, compared to the typical 45-day minimum, has left many speculating that she still may not be one hundred percent better, but only time will tell.

In Larry Rudolph’s, Spears' manager, statement to the press he also asked, “that the media respects her privacy as well as those of her family and friends at this time."
