Heather Mills admits her main reason for participating on Dancing with the Stars is to benefit charity.
While accusations fly that Mills is a publicity seeker with an agenda, she defends herself by claiming to be in it only for charity. Like other performers, Mills is receiving an appearance fee, which she will purportedly donate to Viva!.
Viva! stands for Vegetarians International Voice for Animals, and fights against the slaughter of animals used for consumption. Mills also recently filmed an investigation of the abuse of pigs in farrowing crates, a method she believes is one of “factory farming’s worst hidden horrors.” The amount donated to Viva! will depend solely on how long Mills lasts in the contest.
Mills has also said that she hopes her appearance on the show will also give new hope to people with disabilities.
