Hunger Strike Against Sanjaya Still Going Strong
27-Mar-2007
Written by: Jess Boettger

Anonymous blogger sticks to her vow to starve herself until Sanjaya gets the boot.

The hunger strike against Sanjaya Malakar has entered its ninth day. A girl known only as “J” has sworn that she will not eat a bite of food until 17-year-old Malakar is booted from the show. So far, she has not won over American Idol voters, who last week voted the young Indian-American singer into the top ten.

On Sunday night, “J” had promised her loyal fan base a YouTube video entry, but opted for a written blog instead, explaining that she was “just feeling too tired and weak.” “J” has cautioned others not to join in with the protest, saying that the ordeal was “really not fun.”

Other people are unhappy with Malakar’s success on the show as well. Simon Cowell, one of the judges for “Idol,” has said that in the event that Malakar does take the top prize, he will not return to judge the show’s next season.
