Grindhouse Set to Hit Theaters Friday

Double-Feature Looking To Be Instant Hit
Grindhouse, the double-feature package of Tarantino's Death Proof and Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror, is already being considered to be as an instant hit.
Both Tarantino and Rodriquez went off to create a psyched look and feel to a typical low-budget, no-star B-movie, which doesn’t come around often anymore in Hollywood, while succeeding in the process, by developing one of the most anticipated films of the year.
Rodriguez’s project, Planet Terror, which was shot last spring in Austin, Texas, is a lethal combo of a zombie horror and renegade-hero action flick.
The cast includes: “Freddy Rodríguez (no relation) plays a lone hero, Josh Brolin plays a crazy doc, and Rose McGowan plays a go-go dancer who loses a leg in a roadside zombie attack, which is later prosthetically replaced - with a machine gun.” Bruce Willis, Marley Shelton, Fergie and Tarantino also appear in the film, as well.
Tarantino’s, Death Proof, was shot last fall over ten weeks and certainly has a cast worthy enough to recognize. Kurt Russell plays the villain, Stuntman Mike, a crazed stunt driver, who stalks a “trio of fetching femmes,” played by Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Jordan Ladd, and Vanessa Ferlito.
Damage effects added during the post-production process, which tweaks the prints to look all scratched, burned and jumpy, were the final touches in putting together the dysfunctional film. Grindhouse will hit theaters April 6.
