Michael Jackson Memorabilia Up for Grabs

Items to sell include handwritten lyrics.

A collection of some 2,000 pieces of Michael Jackson memorabilia is to go to auction. The items span the career of Jackson and his family, a period of about 30 years, from the 1960s to the 1990s. Some of the items in the collection include a fedora worn by the star and even handwritten lyrics. These and other pieces are to be sold next month at a Las Vegas auction.

There may be legal trouble, though, as it seems the pop star is less than pleased with the upcoming sale. A spokesman for Jackson, Raymone K. Bain, reports that the singer is considering legal action to halt the auction plans. The collection in question currently resides in New York's Guernsey's auction house.

None of the pieces have been set at a specific price yet, though it is anticipated that several will attract a lot of interest. This particular collection of Jackson memorabilia has been in the headlines before. In 2004, it was turned over to authorities investigating Jackson on charges of child molestation. Jackson was acquitted of the charges in 2005.

The dates for the sale are May 30-31, to take place in Las Vegas, though fans can also bid online using Ebay.
