DiCaprio in Talks for “Body of Lies“ Screen Adaptation
10-Apr-2007
Written by: Jess Boettger

Leo will pair with director Ridley Scott.

Leonardo DiCaprio is considering working with director Ridley Scott on an adaptation of David Ignatius’ novel, “Body of Lies.” It is too early to know anything about the finer details, but the busy DiCaprio has apparently already slipped the filming into his packed schedule. DiCaprio is hoping to start filming in the fall. Director Ridley Scott has already taken off to Morocco to check out possible locations for the filming. He is also expected to scope out sites in Europe, Washington, and the Middle East.

The film’s script is by William Monahan, fresh off his Oscar victory for Scorsese’s “The Departed.” DiCaprio’s role is that of a CIA agent dispatched to Amman to collaborate with Jordan’s intelligence chief in order to locate an Al Qaeda leader believed to be planning an attack of the U.S.A.

Also slotted in the actor’s busy schedule is a film with his former “Titanic” costar, Kate Winslet. Winslet’s husband, Sam Mendes, will direct the two in “Revolutionary Road.”
