Stern Suing Virgie Arthur's Lawyer
According to CNN, Howard K. Stern is suing Virgie Arthur's, Anna Nicole Smith's mother, lawyer John O'Quinn for defamation, for comments made on various television appearances after Smith's death.
"The lawsuit focuses on Mr. O'Quinn's recent appearances on a number of national television shows in which he has made public accusations of murder and other misconduct against Mr. Stern, in connection with the Anna Nicole Smith case," said Stern's attorney, L. Lin Wood, in a statement. He also said the statements made were untrue.
While the defamation suit was being filed in West Palm Beach, Florida, a custody hearing was happening in the Bahamas concerning Larry Birkhead and Smith's daughter, Dannielynn. O'Quinn said Arthur would not be seeking any guardianship of the baby, but the judge wants her and Birkhead to come up with a plan regarding access to Dannielynn. The two are scheduled to appear in court together next Friday.
