Reese and Jake Are Heating Up

Reese Witherspoon wasn't looking for love, but love found her, according to friends. They say her new romance with Jake Gyllenhaal is the real thing.

The pair might seem like an unlikely match, as Gyllenhaal was already an acquaintance when he used to work out with Witherspoon's ex, Ryan Phillippe. Witherspoon, 31, and Gyllenhaal, 26, recently starred together in the upcoming thriller, Rendition, but the pair did not have much screen time together while filming in Morocco.

Sparks began to fly at a reshoot in L.A., and the rest is history. "Things slowly progressed, but it was never something she thought would happen from the start. She just kind of developed this little crush over time," said a source close to Witherspoon.

The new couple spent Easter apart with their families. Witherspoon was in Beverly Hills with her daughter Ava, 7, and son Deacon, 3. Gyllenhaal spent the holiday in Venice, California with his parents. According to a source close to both him and Witherspoon, familial devotion is a big part of their connection: "Jake finds it attractive that she's such a great mom. He really loves kids and wants a family."

Friends seem to think this pair is a match made in heaven. The media would certainly have to agree-paparazzi heaven!
