Elvis Enterprises Launches Graceland Campaign
According to the Associated Press, Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. will launch a new ad campaign to draw more visitors to Elvis's 13-acre Graceland estate in Memphis, just in time to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the King's death.
The campaign also marks the first time the company will be advertising nationally on such outlets as TV, radio, print, travel guides and online. It will be a "Discover Your Inner Elvis" advertisement, featuring a woman wearing the trademark Elvis jumpsuit and inserted in original 1973 footage of a concert in Hawaii.
"We consider it our responsibility to share the legacy of Elvis with visitors," says Paul Jankowski, chief marketing officer of Elvis Presley Enterprises.
Graceland was Elvis Presley's primary residence during the 20 years leading up to his death; it is now owned by his daughter, Lisa Marie Presley. It has been one of the most visited home museums in the U.S. since its opening in 1982.
