17-Apr-2007

The new version of the Universal and Marvel film will be released in 2008.
Two-time Academy Award nominee Edward Norton has signed on to play Bruce Banner, the nuclear physicist with a monster alter-ego in the new Universal Pictures and Marvel Studios Incredible Hulk film.
"Edward Norton is a rare talent and one of the most versatile actors in the business," said Kevin Feige, Marvel Studio's president of production. "His ability to transform into a particular role makes him the ideal choice to take on the character of Bruce Banner and the Hulk. Edward is perfectly suited to bring one of the most popular and important Marvel icons to the bigscreen in a new and exciting way."
Louis Leterrier, who worked on The Transporter, will direct the film and X-Men sequel writer Zak Penn will write the script. Filming in Toronto will begin this summer, and will be released in June 2008.
The 2003 version of The Hulk, directed by Ang Lee, was ill received by critics and viewers alike, especially since the film’s release had such a huge build-up. The newest film is said to be less serious and stay more consistent with the comic book.
