DVD Dribble
A lot of popular actors have movies that are covered in this Dribble. You probably have heard of the actors, but you may not have seen the following films.
Forget about it...Johnny Depp and Al Pacino's 1997 mob film "Donnie Brasco," about an undercover cop penetrating the Italian mob, is heading back to stores with never before seen features. "Donnie Brasco- Extended Cut" includes an exclusive featurette entitled "Donnie Brasco: Out from the Shadows," the original featurette, photo gallery, theatrical trailers, and an extra 20-minutes of never-before-seen footage. It has English audio tracks and English and French subtitles.
Nick Nolte plays an alcoholic who tries to get his younger friend to pretend to be his son at a school reunion in "Off the Black." The 92-minute DVD does not include any special features.
Another 92-minute film out on DVD without special features is "The King Maker." The film follows the life of a man named Fernando De Gama who was shipwrecked, put into slavery, falls in love, and then becomes one of the king's great warriors. Liam Neeson and former 007 Pierce Brosnan play enemies in the Civil War Western "Seraphim Falls." This, too, does not have any special features.
Milla Jovovich is a vengeful bad girl in ".45." She seeks revenge after going through addiction and abuse. Just like the previous films, there are no special features on this DVD either.
"Freedom Writers" comes in a variety of editions. It's available in full- screen, widescreen, HD DVD, and Blu-ray editions. The film, staring Hilary Swank and Patrick Dempsey, is based on the book about a teacher who shows underprivileged children how to put their thoughts into writing and pursue higher education. The DVD includes deleted scenes, "Making 'A Dream,'" "Freedom Writers Family," "Freedom Writers: The Story Behind the Story," a theatrical trailer, and a photo gallery. It has English and French audio tracks and English and Spanish subtitles.
Action star Jean-Claude Van Damme closes out the DVD Dribble with "Until Death." In the film, he plays a cop that is addicted to heroine, falls into a coma and, when he comes out of it, tries to fix his life for the better. There are no special features available on this DVD.
If you're looking for DVDs with a lot of special features, then only "Donnie Brasco" and "Freedom Writers" are up your alley. The rest of the DVDs covered in this Dribble did not contain any special features.
