Paul Simon Honored with Library of Congress Prize

The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song will be given to Paul Simon.
Paul Simon will be awarded the first ever Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, a new award that recognizes “the profound and positive effect of popular music on the world’s culture,” reports Reuters.
Simon will be honored May 23 during an event at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. The ceremony will be broadcasted June 27 on PBS.
Among those confirmed to attend are Art Garfunkel, James Taylor, Lyle Lovett, Alison Kraus, and Marc Anthony, among others. Bob Costas and Lorne Michaels will present Simon with the prize.
