Two More CBS Radio Personalities Suspended

CBS suspended two radio personalities after using racially charged language.

With the Don Imus scandal just beginning to fizzle, CBS Radio suspended two radio personalities after they broadcasted, twice, a racially charged prank call to a Chinese restaurant, reports the Associated Press.

WFNY-FM's The Dog House with JV and Elvis hosts have been suspended without pay until further notice, said CBS Radio spokeswoman Karen Mateo.

Jeff Vandergrift, one of the hosts, has since apologized.

The segment was broadcast April 5 - just one day after Imus's comment, and again two weeks later. In the segment, a caller to a Chinese restaurant places a takeout order using offensive language.

The caller first tells a female employee he wants to see her naked, and refers to a part of her body as "hot, Asian, spicy," and then attempts to order "shrimp flied lice."

The show's hosts have shown support of Imus and his comments since his firing.

"If they don't fire the DJs, it will be a double standard," said Vicki Shu Smolin, President of the New York City Chapter of the Organization of Chinese Americans.
