First Rosie, Now Elisabeth

It was announced Monday that “View“ cohost Elisabeth Hasselbeck will take a maternity leave.
Rosie O’Donnell won’t be the only one leaving The View. Elisabeth Hasselbeck announced on Monday’s show that she is pregnant and will be taking maternity leave.
Her pregnancy, with husband and New York Giants quarterback Tim Hasselbeck, was announced after O’Donnell asked her if there was anything new in her life, to which Hasselbeck said that she was three months pregnant.
“I figured we’re going to be lonely without you,” she said. “So Tim and I thought we should get busy and maybe make a little cohost.”
The news leaves fellow cohost Barbara Walters and executive producer Bill Geddie in a bind, who have yet to start looking for a replacement for O’Donnell.
“When you said you had an announcement, my heart sank,” said Walters on the show.
This will be Hasselbeck’s second maternity leave from The View. She took her first one in June 2005, when she gave birth to Grace Elisabeth. She and Tim do not want to know the sex of the baby before it's born. The couple’s five year anniversary is this July.
