MTV Movie Award Nominations Announced

“300“ and “Pirates of the Caribbean“ received the most MTV Movie Award nominations.
The MTV Movie Award nominations were announced today with Greek warriors battling pirates for the big win. The Greek war drama 300 received five nominations, the most of any movie this year. It was followed closely behind by Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest with four nods. The two films will face off against Borat, Blades of Glory, and Little Miss Sunshine for Best Movie. Borat, Blades of Glory, and The Devil Wears Prada are all up for three awards each.
Dreamgirls stars, Beyoncé Knowles and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, will compete against each other as will Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest co-stars, Johnny Depp and Keira Knightley, 300's Gerard Butler, and The Pursuit of Happyness's Will Smith for Best Performance.
The Golden Popcorn for Best Comedic Performance could go to an SNL alum, Adam Sandler (Click) or Will Ferrell (Blades of Glory), Borat's Sacha Baron Cohen, The Devil Wears Prada star Emily Blunt, or Ben Stiller of Night at the Museum.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest's Bill Nighy, The Departed's Jack Nicholson, The Devil Wears Prada's Meryl Streep, 300's Rodrigo Santoro, and Saw III's Tobin Bell are hoping their roles as bad guys will get them the award for Best Villain.
Up for Best Kiss are Will Ferrell and Sacha Baron Cohen of Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Little Man's Marlon Wayans and Brittany Daniel, Mark Wahlberg and Elizabeth Banks of Invincible, Stomp the Yard's Columbus Short and Meagan Good, and Cameron Diaz and Jude Law of The Holiday.
The stars of 300, Borat, Nacho Libre, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, and Blades of Glory are hoping to knock out the competition to take the Best Fight award. The nominees are Gerard Butler vs. The Uber Immortal, Sacha Baron Cohen vs. Ken Davitian, Jack Black and Héctor Jiménez vs. Los Duendes, Uma Thurman vs. Anna Faris, and Will Ferrell vs. Jon Heder.
Young stars Abigail Breslin of Little Miss Sunshine and Will Smith's son Jaden Smith of The Pursuit of Happyness may take home their first award. Other newcomers up for Breakthrough Performance include Stomp the Yard's Columbus Short, Lena Headey of 300, The Devil Wears Prada's Emily Blunt, and musician Justin Timberlake for his role in Alpha Dog.
Movies that haven't even hit theaters yet are up for an award, Best Summer Movie You Haven't Seen Yet. The upcoming releases nominated are Rush Hour 3, Hairspray, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Evan Almighty, Transformers, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
The MTV Movie Awards, which will be hosted by comedian Sarah Silverman, will take place in Los Angeles on June 3.
