SUV Collides With a Group of Kids
A car crash in California today sent several children to the hospital. Children in Belmont, California (25 miles south of San Francisco) were waiting for the bus at about 12:30 p.m. when an SUV jumped the curb and collided with several of the kids. Police and hospital officials are reporting that the Honda Pilot struck about six to seven children, four of whom were rushed to the hospital. The Ralston Middle School students were admitted to the Stanford Medical Center, and two are reported to have sustained potentially life-threatening injuries.
One young child was sent to Eden Medical Center's trauma center in Castro Valley by helicopter. And several other hospitals are reporting that they are getting patients coming from the Belmont crash. The school's principal informed the press that the vehicle's driver has also been taken in for medical attention, as well as a number of kids who were physically unharmed but emotionally shook up by the crash.
The kids had gotten out of school early due to standardized testing schedules.
