The End is Near for “Lost“
6-May-2007
Written by: Courtney Thompson
Producers announce that the show will end in 2010.
The producers of ABC’s Lost have announced that the show will have three more 16-episode seasons before ending in 2010.
Although it’s admittedly unusual to announce a show’s conclusion this far in, producers say fans are frustrated that the show isn’t really going anywhere.
"Among fans there was an unease that they were making an investment in a show that's complicated without any sense of where that's going to lead them," said co-creator Damon Lindelof in an interview with USA Today. "From the very beginning, fans and even critics have been saying, 'Are you making it up as you go along?' which was 'a legitimate question.'"
The season finale of Lost will premiere on May 23, and executive producer Carlton Cuse said a lot of answers will be revealed. Viewers "will begin to get an idea of what that design will be, and it will not be at all what they expect," he said.
