Mother Load

Give Mom a memorable gift for Mother’s Day this year!
Forget Ivy League schools, big business or presidential campaigning: the real pressure’s in parenting. Amy Wilson delivers a hilarious diatribe on the world of competitive parenting in Mother Load. Her harangue covers everything from tots with personal trainers and birthday caterers to writing an essay as to why her child should be accepted to nursery school.
Along the way, Wilson grapples with “the mother load,” the impossibly high expectations and standards that parents today are driven to meet. But in the end, she learns that what matters most is taking the time to simply enjoy her kids.
Written and performed by Wilson, this mother of two boys delivers the laughs. From TV’s Norm and Felicity to Broadway’s The Last Night of Ballyhoo to her last solo show which was featured in the HBO Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Wilson has proven she knows what’s funny. In this Off-Broadway production, Wilson takes on two dozen character roles telling her how to raise her babies. Her imitations are perfect while her comedic timing is simply incredible. In the end, she finally learns to drown out the nagging and advice and simply enjoy parenthood.
With Mother's Day just around the corner, a trip to the show is sure to be a hit with Mom. What better way to show Mom you appreciate what a tough job she has than by treating her with a pair of tickets? Or why not bring the whole family? There’s something for everyone in this delightfully candid expose of the cutthroat world of modern mothering. The show is a must-see for everyone who’s ever been a mother—or ever had one, for that matter.
