Not your average car racing game

Ralli Sport Challenge 2 is not your average car racing game. It's a lot more complicated and a lot more satisfying.

I started out as an amateur just to get my feel for the controls. I was a bit disappointed with my start, I placed very low and couldn't get a handle on the car. The game kept telling me I wasn't doing well enough and I wouldn't get far if I kept up my poor performance. I'm just sitting there reading the screen thinking I could have added another summer session class for this kind of work. But I got through it and I started to do better. I placed first a few times and the encouragement began. I earned the prize, I had a good finish and I started to fluff my feathers back up. After unlocking three new cars and even racing on ice I have so far earned my class D license and am on my way to a class C.

The cars are regular one's you see on the street or in racing movies. I unlocked a really fast one and it was amazing! Just be sure the settings are right for your course - you can change the way the car responds to steering, braking and handling - so the rain, ice and gravel don't hinder your performance.

I have to say how realistic these graphics are. I crashed into so many things and every time you crash the car shows realistic damage. I lost taillights, windshields, front bumpers, even the hood when I flipped over. The courses so far have been challenging and I actually get nervous with the realistic-looking spectators around the course, trying not to crash into them. No worries - the barricades work like a charm.

I can see how the game is rated E for Everyone because there's no blood, guts or violence, but I'm not sure the game is kid friendly. The simple comments frustrated me, and I'm old enough to know it's just a game, which may not be the kind of encouragement children need.

Overall, I really like this game. Again, once I got into the races and started winning, it got better. I am looking forward to trying new courses and unlocking more cars and features.
