Kensington Laptop Accessories
Written by: Michael Mardings

Now I'm ready to travel.

Kensington

I fly for business at least every three weeks and my laptop bag has certainly begun to look like hell. My "mobile office" is an embarrassment to say the least!

First, I picked up a Kensington Contour Roller which essentially looks like a briefcase which is bent in the middle. That description might be terrible, but it's accurate. It's bent in an ergonomic way, and has a bent handle that pops up which they say makes it quite easy to pull around town. This is true.

Basically, the Contour Roller is a neurotic traveler's dream. They've configured the handle, they've configured the pockets. They've configured the handle that stretches out, and even the interior. They even called the American Chiropractic Association to make sure it's ergonomic design works. Who really thinks of these things? But they were right. It really does make carrying things easier and there is a pocket for everything.

While I was at it, I picked up the FlyLight, which is simply put a book light that gets charged and runs straight off of the USB port. It's really small and portable and fortunately lights up my keyboard so I can get some work done on the plane.

And finally, when I come home, I've switched my laptop into a pc using the Laptop Desktop USB. This is basically one of those simply and ingenious ideas that really works. Essentially it's a big metal case that holds your laptop at such a level that the screen is the same height as a regular desktop monitor. You can then plug in your mouse, keyboard and other accessories so when you bring your laptop back, it works just like a regular desktop. At home, I've plugged in my scanner, printer, mouse, keyboard, and other stuff, and it easily slides back and forth.

I guess if you're a company that focuses on computer accessories, you're going to get it right.
