Cowgirl Chocolates/Cocoa Pete's
Written by: Margherita Miserandino
Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate
We at TheCelebrityCafe.com love chocolate. Whenever we have a chance to review an interesting chocolate product we rarely say no. We recently received two types of chocolates: Cowgirl Chocolates' Truffles and Cocoa Pete's Chocolate Adventures Chocolate Bars.
Cowgirl Chocolates makes spicy truffles and mild-mannered truffle flavors. They came packaged very cleverly in a drawstring muslin bag. The mild-mannered truffles come in dark and milk chocolate, and any chocolate lover will really enjoy these premium chocolates. The real stars were the spicy truffles which have hot peppers added to them. They come in a variety of flavors including milk chocolate, spicy mint, lime-tequila, dark chocolate, espresso and orange. The chocolate is very smooth. The dark chocolate and mint seem to taste like their regular counterparts until the aftertaste gets you; you feel the burning in your mouth. The espresso flavor is good but intense; it is not a mild coffee flavor. One staff member equated it with chewing on coffee beans. The lime-tequila was one of my favorites. It was spicier than the others and I think it would be a great end to a Mexican dinner. The orange one was very refreshing, but again with that kick afterwards.
Cocoa Pete's Chocolate Adventures are the coolest chocolate bars. The flavors have names such as Berry Berry Dangerous, Maltimus Maximus, Caramel Knowledge, and Nuts So Serious. These chocolates are 100% natural and Kosher certified. The flavors are all very rich. The Berry Berry Dangerous bar has real pieces of strawberry floating in dark chocolate. One staff member said it tasted like chocolate covered strawberries. The Maltimus Maximus had lots of real malt crunchies in it. Caramel Knowledge was a great combination of caramel, dark chocolate and a bit of coffee. If you love nuts with chocolate, the Nuts So Serious was full of hazelnut and pistachio flavor. It was by far the nuttiest candy bar we have ever tasted.
