Yellow Submarine and combating Blue Meanies...

For all those who hold the dream of living in a Yellow Submarine and combating Blue Meanies, Chronicle Books has three new stationery products, all of which have illustrations from the animated movie. The first of these—Yellow Submarine notepads—come in four versions, each with a different Beatle on the cover. These pads would be handy for taking down homework assignments or making shopping lists. At $4.95 each they would make cool favors for a Yellow Submarine party—of course, guests should dress as their favorite characters. Don’t everyone come as Ringo.

Next is Yellow Submarine Fold and Mail Stationery. Each sheet in these pads has a side on which one could write a note. Then tear out the sheet and fold it to see on the reverse side a preformatted, full color, mailing cover with glued flaps. There are five different lovely designs in each 40 sheet pad. These notes would be great as invitations to the aforementioned party. The pads are priced at $7.95,

Lastly—my personal favorite—is the Yellow Submarine Lenticular Journal ($10. 95). As all you logophiles know, lenticular alludes to something shaped like a biconvex lens. Don’t get worried. All it means here is that this journal has a terrific, three dimensional, psychedelic cover that will warm the heart of any Beatle fan. It would be perfect for recording under seas adventures.
