An after-market GPS unit that actually works!

Dear lonely hearts, when traveling alone don't you want to speak to somebody? Don't you want and desire a companion for the road? I know I do. I am soooo tired of travel friends with that can't read maps or hold a conversation like "where are we?" What's there to see in this burg? The FineDrive 400 answers all questions and doesn't need a bathroom break every hour. Travel like you mean it! It has also has a neat feature that it plays MP3s. It's like an auto-iPod.

Now, the big question I’ve found for GPS units is do they work? We’ve tested the original Microsoft Streets program quite a few years back and a few other GPS units and they were consistent in the fact that the unit couldn’t narrow you down to within 100 yards. This doesn’t sound like a lot but in tight city streets they would simply lose use. The FineDrive basically suction cups to the mirror and within 3-4 minutes it gets a signal. I drove for 1 week with it and in that week it only “lost” me once. That time it did lose the signal it caught up within a few seconds.

Functionally the unit is very easy to use and I happen to love the fact that it seems to recalculate the arrival time based on how fast or slow you’re driving. Overall, for an after market GPS, this is certainly the best that we’ve tested so far. It’s both easy to use and accurate. While it throws in the extras such as the mp3s it’s a feature that wasn’t even necessary as really when I get a GPS I just want it to do it’s job and do it well. The MP3s in this case was simply an added bonus, as I was just happy that the darn thing worked 99% of the time.
