Toddler Toys

Bob the Builder
Let's see. First, there's Bob and he's a builder. Then there are things he builds or the tools he uses. Yup! That's all there is to it! But in between is the world: the electronic tool bench. Hammer, saw and twist to the noises and lights of the workbench. Little hands can use the tools that have been designed for them to grip. Little muscles and budding imaginations are given just enough exercise to grow on. If more is wanted then go for the remote controlled scoop. It works just like the big boys radio controlled racers but in miniature. The scoop is really a backhoe/bulldozer just like the big road crews use but now is in a smaller, slower style the child can handle. The wireless control is shaped like Bob and plays an encouraging tune: "Yes we can!"

This is an adult trick to get kids to sit quietly for a while and to make the adults feel necessary. Babies giggle and coo gently on their own and then some grown up wants to interrupt them. I remember, my parents did it to me. Here the parents can be taught to work with the child and not disturb them. Parents hold the baby in one hand and the Hug-a-boo bear in the other and say Peek-a- boo while covering the bear’s face with their blanket. Pretty funny…to the baby. "The Giggle Bug" and "The Clap with Me Monkey" are just waiting for baby and dad to play. Special times call for special songs and special toys.
